Eric Teo Chu Cheow

Eric Teo Chu Cheow was born in 1958 in Singapore. A Singapore Government scholarship-holder, Dr Teo did all his studies in Paris (France). culminating in a "Doctorat es Sciences Politiques" in 1985 at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris/ Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques.

Upon his return to Singapore, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he served for eleven years as a diplomat. He served in Paris (1991-1995) and was a delegate of Singapore twice to United Nations General Assembly sessions (1988 and 1990). From 1987 till the International Conference on Cambodia in Paris 1993, he was assigned to the "Cambodian problem". In May 1996, Dr Teo left the Singapore diplomatic corps to join the private sector. Since the beginning of 2001, Dr Teo has set up a private consultancy firm. He is currently (June 2002) the Council Secretary of the SIIA and Director-General of Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC-Singapore).
