Hu Wei

Hu Wei was born in January 1964 in Zhengzhou. He is currently Professor of Government at Shanghai Jiaotong University, President of the Center of Public Policy and Social Research of the Shanghai Social Sciences Federation, and a Director of the Shanghai Political Science Association as well as honoray professor at the Hubei University and hte Wenzhou University.

Professor Hu He studied political science at Fudan University and where he took both his Master's and Ph.D (1982-1989). He became associate professor in 1995 and the youngest professor of political science in China in 1999. From 1995 to 2000., he was Deputy Director of Fudan Institute of Politics and Public Administration. Visiting Scholar at Harvard University (1997 to 1998), Professor Hu gave numerous lectures in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, Hongkong and Taiwan in recent years. He is the author of numerous publications, and has won many academic awards in China.
