Jose Trinidad Pardo Born in April 24, 1939, in Manila, Jose Pardo was Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry from July 1998 to Januray 2001. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Investments, the National Development Company, the Export Development Council, the Philippine International Trading Corporation and a member of numerous National Authorities. He is the Chairman of De La Salle University. Jose Pardo was educated in Manila and in the United States where he was the first MBA graduate under the Havard-DLSU Advisory Program (1961-1963). In 1967, he was awarded a Fellowship Grant to the United States on the Development of Small Medium Scale Industries and in 1968 an Observation Grant to France on Promotion and Financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises. Jose Pardo was, during his career in the private sector, Chairman of Electronic Realty Associates (ERA Philippines) Inc., Glacier Water Philippines and Overseas Ohsaki Construction Corp. He was President of Philippine Seven Corp. (Philippine Area licensee of 7-Eleven, USA), Wenphil Corporation (Philippine Area Licensee of Wendy's USA), Cable Entertainment Corp., Asian Hodlings Corp., Land and Housing Development Corp. In 1992, he was appointed by President Ramos at the Presidential Council of Economic Advisers, and in 1993-1994 at the Monetary Board of the Central Bank. | |||
